Programs
The purpose of Little Elmers Childcare and OSC is to create a safe, secure and happy environment for children, staff, and families. Our prime objective is to provide activities for the enjoyment and development of children in a relaxed atmosphere. Our focus is on encouraging the development of a positive self- image, self – confidence, open communication, and trusting relationships between children, staff and parents.
Our program promotes an environment which allows each individual child the freedom to enhance their social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and creative development. All children will be encouraged to develop their independence, decision-making skills, and a sense of responsibility. The program will provide the opportunity for children to have a variety of play experiences in a stimulating environment and allow freedom within set limits.

INFANT
12 - 19 Months

The infant program is designed to create a stimulating environment to suit the needs of young children. It offers unique and creative sensory opportunities for the children to make sense of the world around them. Your child will enjoy plenty of singing, giggling, reading, cuddling, and dancing in our safe and secure room. Each child benefits from an individualized daily plan that ensures they receive the attention they need. We emphasize one-to-one interaction between staff members and children to foster trust and secure attachments.

Everyday the infants are offered many hands-on activities that allows the children to learn, grow, and explore. We believe our role is to help them build confidence, self – esteem, encourage self – expression, and develop their social skills.

TODDLER
19 Months - 3 Years

Toddlers are all about exploring and engaging with their surroundings – and we love that! The environment offers experiences that allow children to engage and develop skills in all areas such as physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and creativity.

Our Early Childhood Educators will encourage our toddlers to begin participating in activities for longer periods of time like singing songs, playing games, and expressing their creativity through art, music, and dance. These hands-on activities encourage the toddlers to explore, wonder, and discover many possibilities on their own.
Toddlers love story time! Through stories, toddlers can expand their vocabulary and learn to communicate effectively.

We believe that the toddler room should be a safe; yet engaging environment for the toddlers to reach their full potential. The educator’s role in the toddler room is to provide a secure environment to allow the children to build confidence, self – esteem, and social skills.

PRESCHOOL + KINDERGARTEN
3 - 6 Years

Our Preschool and Kindergarten program will focus on helping the children build independence and learn real – life skills. Additionally, we will ensure that every child has the general knowledge (alphabet, vocabulary, writing, etc.) that will keep them on par with their peers. Our goal is to ensure every child is excited to learn and has a positive outlook.
With a strong focus on songs, experiments, stories, games and ‘free play’ we hope that children can acquire the decision making and social skills needed to succeed in school. Our Early Childhood Educator’s encourage creative expression through dramatic play, art, music, dance to enhance their individual uniqueness

We believe in creating a safe place for children to learn and grow. Our goal is to guide children to build their confidence, self esteem, and social skills for a smooth transition to school.
